Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Taghazout?
Taghazout is a laid-back surf town about 35 minutes north of Agadir. It’s a little livelier than Tamraght, with beach cafés, surf shops, bars, and sunset spots all within walking distance.
How do I get to the guesthouse from Agadir airport or bus station?
We can arrange a pickup for you for an extra fee – just let us know in advance. There are also taxis and local buses if you’re coming on your own.
How far is the guesthouse from the beach?
Idriss Seaview Guesthouse is just a few steps from Taghazout beach – perfect for a morning dip or sunset stroll.
What types of rooms do you offer?
This cosy guesthouse apartment includes two private rooms (one double, one twin), and can be booked by room or as a whole for a more private stay. Located in the heart of Taghazout, you’re just moments away from great cafés, restaurants, and surf spots.
Is breakfast included?
No, this guesthouse is self-catered.
Do you offer long-term stays or discounts?
Send us a message and we can offer weekly or monthly pricing when booking direct.
Can I book directly or should I use Airbnb/Booking/Hostelworld?
You can book through those platforms, but we always recommend booking directly through our website for the best rates and more flexible check-in.
Do you rent surfboards and wetsuits?
Yes! We have boards and suits available for rent.
Do you offer surf lessons?
Absolutely – we partner with trusted local instructors, whether it’s your first time or you're levelling up.
What other activities are available?
We organise day trips to Paradise Valley, sandboarding in the dunes, cooking classes, skate sessions, souk trips, and more – check out all our activities here, or just ask when you get here.
Is there a kitchen I can use?
Yes, this guesthouse is self-catered. We have a small kitchen and fridge to use. It is also minutes walk from local cafes and restaurants.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
Do you do laundry?
Yes, laundry service is available for 50 DH per load.
Is the guesthouse pet-friendly?
Rosa, our dog, stays with us in Tamraght – and for everyone’s comfort, we don’t allow outside pets at the guesthouse.
Is the guesthouse suitable for kids?
Only if you're booking the entire apartment. Otherwise, it’s better suited for adults.
Whats the average age of guests?
Most of our guests are between 30 and 45. Everyone’s welcome, but keep in mind this is a simple, cosy apartment-style guesthouse – not fancy, just clean rooms, warm hospitality, and an unbeatable location right on the beach in the heart of Taghazout.
What’s the atmosphere like?
We attract relaxed, open-minded travellers looking for a peaceful stay.
Are there social events?
Not at the guesthouse itself since it’s self-catered, but you’re welcome to join any of our trips or activities from the hostel – we’ll happily arrange transport from Taghazout. Otherwise, enjoy the laid-back nightlife and social vibe around town.
Is it quiet at night?
Taghazout is a bit livelier than Tamraght, and the lounge is shared – but we ask everyone to be respectful and keep things calm at night. If you’re booking the whole guesthouse, you’ll of course have the place to yourselves.
Is Taghazout safe for solo travellers?
Yes – it’s popular with solo travelers, including women, and has a relaxed, surf-town feel. As always, stay aware and respectful of local culture.
What should I wear in Morocco?
Tamraght and Taghazout are both used to surfers and travelers, so it’s pretty relaxed. You’re fine in beachwear at the hostel, around the area and surf spots, but its recommended cover up when walking through local villages or the city. A light scarf or t-shirt is perfect.
Can I buy snacks, water, or essentials nearby?
Yes – there's a supermarket, fruit stalls, pharmacy, cafés, and local shops just a few minutes from the guesthouse.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 1:00 PM / Check-out is 12:00 PM
We’re flexible when possible – just let us know your arrival time!
Do you accept card payments?
At this time, we can only accept cash in Moroccan Dirhams. There are ATMs nearby.
What's your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival when you book directly with us. If you booked through a third-party site, their policy applies. For any last-minute changes, just get in touch – we’re pretty understanding.
Are there ATMs nearby?
Yes! Most accept international cards (Visa/Mastercard), though we always recommend taking out a bit more at once – some machines have daily limits or occasional outages.
• Pro tip: Let your bank know you're traveling to Morocco to avoid card issues, and bring a small backup stash of Euros or USD to exchange just in case. Since the Moroccan Dirham is a closed currency, it is much cheaper to exchange once you’re here.
Are you open all-year-round?
We are open all-year-round, however, during the summer months (from 1st July - 15th September) each floor turns into a private apartment with shared entry and rooftop. We also don’t offer any meals.
I’ve still got some questions, can you help?
Absolutely! Use the contact form below or email idrisshostel@gmail.com
You can also message on WhatsApp +212 639-046411 or Instagram.
